Intelligent, Ethical Penn - 12/27/00

Yesterday was press day in DC. I was up at 5:30 (if you correct for the time change, I was up before I'm used to going to bed). It was radio, and then I was joined by Teller to do some TV. The first radio show was a big one. I didn't have much time. As I walked in, the jock started talking about his favorite bit being "The Bees." I told them that I lost all the skin on my scrotum to that one, but it was all better . . . "see?" I pulled out my testicles (and just because of topology, some of my penis) to show the traffic woman. She said everything looked fine. Right then we went on the air. It was a really good hit for the show, there were lots of laughs and lots of "at the Warner Theater through New Year's Eve."

Okay, there's nothing funny there, but Teller, kept listening to the show (how crazy is he?) after I left and said they spent a half hour talking about how intelligent and ethical I was. See? Didn't the Romans used to have people swear on their (or maybe someone else's) testicles or something? Maybe that's what they meant. It's a crazy world.
