Frog Miracle Penn - 8/31/00

I've had two big fat bullfrogs in my pond for about a year. Sandra, my frog pal, has checked them out. We've seen them both and played with them. The pond people come every week and see two frogs. I have a two-frog pond. Just two frogs. So, a couple of weeks ago (after feeding the quarter to the frog), there was a storm and that's the dangerous time for my frogs. With the only water around being the pond, they are fine. They hop around the courtyard looking for bugs, but they come home. When it rains, however, the world becomes frog-friendly and they hop too far away and can't find their way back to the pond. Over 5 years, I've lost a few frogs that way. So, it rained and the next day, Goudeau found a dead frog over by the cactus. It was a very sad day. Was it the quarter frog? We don't know, but it was dead.

Brian, the guy who takes care of my house, told me that he'd thrown the body away. We had corpus. The frog was dead. I was very sad. So, for a couple of weeks, there was one frog. Every day I would look and there was one lonely frog. Okay. It's sad, but there's one frog.

Jamy comes out here with some magic kid and they're staying at the Slammer. The kid says last night, that he saw a frog in the driveway! That's the other side of the fence. That's a long way from the pond. The kid is on crack, right? Okay.

Today, I look at the pond and TWO FROGS! What?! TWO FROGS. I screamed, "Jesus Christ!" Nina Kate saw and screamed almost to a swoon. Jamy thought it was a miracle.

Okay, so there were 3 frogs in the pond, right? Sure. But, for a year we only saw two? Sandra only saw two? The pond people only saw two? What?

Now there are two frogs. Two frogs minus one frog equal two frogs. Must be non-European math or something. There are two frogs. Wow.
