Well, we finished up our run in Vegas
and it was one of the best of our careers. We brought in
Paul Provenza to work with us and he was great. Just
perfect. He helped us get two new things in and rocking
really fast. He also helped us clean up old bits and make
them clear and powerful. He made them really fresh and
important.
Our co-workers were working in top form. Burt, Nathan,
Wiley, Bobby, The Doctor, Glenn, Rex, and even Amy were
right there doing amazing work. They were changing and
creating and making it happen. It's hard to put new stuff
in in Vegas because the crowds are so much deader. But, if
you do it right, it's the lead baseball bat (I'm so good
with sports metaphors).
The Flag Burning (called "Flag") on the last night just
rocked the world. It's going to be one of the big winners.
Wow. It does so much. It has so many things that are
important to our style and it has them all together in one
bit. Teller's work on it (with Johnny Thompson) is
breathtaking. Man, this one will be around for a while.
It's one of our best bits already.
Teller and I are working together better than ever. It
seems we understand everything. Breathing the clean
American air after India did wonders for us. We are really
a machine. I can't believe the quality of the people we
have around us. They make us want to strive to meet their
quality.
The show in NYC is going to be amazing. Last night, we
needed to have the sound of a crowd screaming "Penn AND
Teller" for the new Inflatables music. Provenz went out and
lead the crowd while Rex recorded. Paul was out doing a
little bit of stand up before our show to make it happen.
The people that were at the show last night will be heard at
every P&T show where we do the Inflatables. This Vegas run
was great. It also is coincidental with getting back to the
First World and back to being healthy.
Oh boy.
