| Security Edition Penn - 5/07/02
My friend, Dino Cameron,
is a genius. He got the idea to make playing card size
copies of the Bill of Rights printed on metal. With the
4th Amendment in red. It's called
"Bill of Rights, Security Edition," and it's made just for flying. It's a
great idea. A really great idea. It sets off the metal
detectors and you get to hear the security person say, "I'm
going to have to take away your Bill of Rights." Well,
it's not going to actually work like that very often, but
the idea is there. I now have some power over them. I now have rules
that I follow and they have to put up with, but the
Security Edition Bill of Rights is so great.
I got the first shipment of them anywhere, and Colin,
Mickey, and I were the first to try them. They're light
and go right into a breast pocket. Of course, metal
detectors are different everywhere, but it seemed to set
off the big first one. Mickey's was in his luggage and
wasn't noticed. Colin set off the detector when he went
through and when he was wanded; they found it, looked at it
and gave it back (one way to use it is to say, "Why don't
you keep that and read it when you have a chance."). I set
off the metal detector and then used another trick of mine
of walking over to the person wanding and saying, "If I
didn't set off the detector where do I go?" and they just
dismiss me and save me some time. So, we didn't really use
the Security Edition, but I LOVED having it. Loved it. I
have a zillion of them, and I give them to people and the
look on their faces and they figure it out, is just
wonderful. It's a great idea. Dino is a genius. The
National Guard guy came over to me and said, "Would you get
on the radio and talk to my platoon commander, we're really
big fans," and I said, "I would never turn you down as a
person. I would do it for you and your commander in a
second, but, what you're doing is wrong, I don't approve,
so I can't really do that now. I'm so sorry." He passed
it on over the radio (Oh, I'll be treated well next time.)
I was chosen for the "Random" search by the "x"s on my
tickets, so I gave all my luggage to Colin to carry on the
plane (man, you learn a lot flying all the time) and then did
my change your gloves thing. They didn't have any
gloves there, so they had to run to get more, when they
came back they looked in my computer bag briefly and then
said, "Were your shoes checked?" I said, "Yes," and walked
away, they didn't wand me and didn't find the Security
Edition. I thought she meant did I check my shoes when I
put them on this morning. So, I got fresh gloves and I
wasn't touched, and I was a little sad I didn't get to use
the Security Edition. This is Dino's genius, you WANT to
get checked when you have it. You can't lose.
Dino has a
website up and you can stop by and buy some.
They're like 3 for 10 bucks and worth every penny. There
are also frequent flyer rates. It's nice to know that
you're giving up your rights. It's a great giveaway. So,
log in, buy a few and then fly a little
happier. Dino is a genius.
